AI Disclosure

This page is voluntary. Nobody requires it, but it seems fair to say plainly where AI shows up in Weatherling and where it does not. The formal data-handling rules live in the Privacy Policy; this page is about how the app and this website get made.

No AI inside the app

Weatherling contains no AI features. The rain is a Metal renderer driven by plain physics and the window geometry macOS already exposes. The app makes no network requests, so nothing you do on your Mac is ever sent to a model, a server, or anyone else.

AI in how I build Weatherling

I use AI coding assistants, mainly Claude Code from Anthropic, to write, review, and refactor code for both the Mac app and this website. They also help draft documentation and marketing copy. I read and test what they produce; AI helps me move faster, it does not replace judgment.

• No user data is ever fed into those tools. There is no user data to feed: the app collects none.
• The app’s sandbox, entitlements, and privacy posture are reviewed by hand, not delegated.

AI-assisted design and artwork

The design of this website and its copy started as output from Claude Design and were refined by hand. The smiling storm cloud imagemark and the Weatherling wordmark were created with the help of AI image tools and finished manually.

How this site is built

The site is scaffolded and optimized with a reusable set of AI skills, the open Senternet site skills, that handle the boring parts: prerendering, meta tags, sitemaps, share images, and performance checks. The interactive rain demo on the home page is hand-tuned Canvas code.

Changes to this disclosure

If Weatherling ever gains an AI feature, or the way it is built changes materially, this page will be updated before or alongside that release.
